55/ Walk On - Out Now Hooray hooray walk on is now out on all your fav streaming platforms (some may be attached to the Spanish artist ferna but we are ignoring that little problem for now)I reaaaaallly hope you like this one - it’s one of two songs I have coming out loosely inspired by Coretta Scott King and wrestles with the feeling of living in someone else’s shadow, which @chris__mcc captured beautifully in the lyric vid.It began life as a simples piano ballad, got turned into an orchestra piece in 2019 and now all of that is combined with a few icy synths. So lucky to have the amazing on our shores @alice.eugenie - she painted all my single artwork for me. $\35 Knit and Natter Club 🧶 🧶 🧶I went to a knit and natter club in North Belfast for 3 months and during that time failed to learn absolutely anything. How hard could it be, I thought to myself? A lady called Margaret reassured me that she would have me crocheting baby blankets for premature babies by Christmas - sure she had successfully up-skilled everyone who had come through the group..."even Geraldine", with a knowing look.My lack of aptitude became apparent as the 83 year olds with arthritis began to move on to tiny hats with bobbles and booties with buttons, while I struggles to hold my crochet hook without dropping it on the floor. I noticed Margaret's face begin to darken when I entered the room. Her voice became increasingly strained as she counted my stitches (1,2,3 and oh no, back to the beginning) beside me and one .day, she asked me gently if I would 'hold her wool?'I decided then it would be best if I left before the Christmas party and maybe that was the best gift I could give them. /34 Book Club 📕 📕 📕I always thought my adult self would join a book club, but as it turns out, my adult self doesn't enjoy socialising in a group and having to come up with opinions anymore than my teenage self did ---- so maybe not for me?My mother-in-law confirmed my worst fears about book clubs when she told me she joined one about 15 years ago and has to provide M&S buns or at least a tesco finest spread when she hosts (every 4 months) and sometimes has to go on weekends away and is not allowed to leave due to mysterious book club etiquette. Anyway, that's all I know about book clubs. Have you been part of one? Is it as scary as it seems? Also, did your book group read milkman ?
